Venue

The  Street Art –plex festival is the preferred platform for this project, because the project follows the Art-Plex guide lines while at the same time it extends some of them into new territory, which will be interesting to you as well exciting to the local community.

Aspects of the project that align with Street Art-Plex ideals:

  • The project focuses on a broad audience ranging from art professionals to everyday people regardless of age. The project therefore makes human expression in arts more familiar to all.
  • The project would spread along the entire length of a street or even several blocks and would therefore knit together diverse participating parties by involving shop owners, restaurants, etc. The project therefore unites together to create high quality diverse urban culture.
  • Similar projects have been embraced by city marketing offices, because they are low profile, non intrusive, and are part of a concept of sustainable tourism practice. The project therefore allows all who want to enjoy art without imposing on those people who may not want to.

The project is however an electronic art project, but one that everyone can view because it is uses the modern day mobile phone as a kind looking glass. Since everyone has one these days and ownership and use is no longer limited to any one generation, everyone can take part in the project.

The concept is a spinoff of the concept of Space Art and it focuses on “Zero Gravity” i.e. artwork that floats in space. A well known work  of the Japanese artist, Azuma Makoto can serve as an example. Like this work,  the concept for this project which is titled ““Nine!” said a voice. And then, “Eight!” And then, “Seven!” And so on”., It is best understood as a public art project in the form of a zero gravity exhibition of virtual space artworks using Augmented Reality
